Anger Management & Mindfulness: Practical Skills for Emotional Regulation

This engaging 3‑CEU training is designed for professionals seeking practical, evidence‑informed strategies to better understand, manage, and respond to anger. Led by Charles Montgomery, an Anger Management Certified and Mindfulness Certified instructor, this course blends structured anger management principles with mindfulness‑based techniques to support emotional regulation, self‑awareness, and healthy behavioral change.

Participants will explore the root causes of anger, common triggers, and the physiological and cognitive processes that influence emotional responses. The training emphasizes real‑world application, offering tools that can be immediately integrated into professional practice, personal development, or client interventions. Mindfulness strategies are woven throughout the course to help participants cultivate presence, reduce reactivity, and increase intentional responses during high‑stress situations.

This course is ideal for behavioral health professionals, educators, human service providers, and other professionals who work with individuals experiencing emotional dysregulation, conflict, or stress‑related challenges.

Learning Objectives Include:

​Jessica Penot, author of the unmasking workbook for autistic adults, will also go over how to integrate Dungeons and Dragons and other RPGs into your therapeutic practice with your autistic clients. Attendees will get a Role-playing Integration Therapy workbook. Donuts, Coffee, and Snacks are provided but please bring your own lunch.

You’ll also learn how to design therapeutic games for small groups, helping clients engage with their different parts and explore the roles those parts play in their lives.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES INCLUDE: Learn the history of Dungeons and Dragons and some of the basic RPGs that are popular now.  Discuss their basic mechanics and how they work Discuss how character-building works in RPGs Learn the basics of IFS and other Parts based techniques and how to link Character building to Parts Work with IFS Discover how to integrate RPG character building into therapeutic practices, utilizing existing characters in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work. Delve into the world and history of RPGs, learning how to design and create your own therapeutic games to enhance client engagement and self-exploration. Learn how to use the RIT workbook to help clients explore their own parts and send them on self-guided adventures that will help them heal their fragmented parts, heal, and improve their inner monologue. thoughtfully crafted to elevate what matters most.
